Somsak Teerawong

Bangkok · Crystal Replacement

I brought in a Seiko that my father used to wear. The crystal had a crack across the corner — not broken, but noticeable. They sourced a mineral glass that matched the profile closely and had it ready the next day. The watch looks as it should again.

Bangkok · Quartz Service

Straightforward battery service. They were upfront about the price before touching anything, which I appreciated. The person at the desk also pointed out that the crown gasket was getting a bit brittle — something I had not noticed. We agreed to replace it as part of the same visit. Good attention to detail.

Pathum Thani · Vintage Restoration

My grandfather's Longines had not run in years. I was cautious about letting anyone touch it. The watchmaker here spent about twenty minutes going through what he could see and what he proposed doing — step by step. He explained which parts were original and which would need replacing. Three weeks later it was running accurately. Very pleased.

Wanchai Chanthana

Bangkok · Crystal Replacement

The crystal on my daily watch got badly scratched — my own fault. They had a replacement in stock and fitted it the same afternoon. The water resistance test at the end was a nice touch; I had not thought to ask for it. The watch felt properly looked after, not just fixed.

Samut Prakan · Quartz Service

I have had batteries changed elsewhere, but the result here was noticeably different. They checked the movement condition, noted that one small component was showing early wear, and wrote it on the service card as something to keep an eye on. Nothing alarming — just useful to know.

Bangkok · Vintage Restoration

A 1960s Omega that had not been serviced in a very long time. The assessment was thorough and the explanation was clear. I appreciated that they did not try to push unnecessary work — they identified what was actually needed and left the rest alone. The watch has been running well for two months now.

Case Studies

A closer look at three repairs

The Situation

A Citizen quartz that had stopped running

A customer brought in a ten-year-old Citizen that had simply stopped. They were unsure whether the problem was the battery or something more involved, and did not want to invest in a repair if the watch was not worth fixing.

What We Did

The battery had indeed failed, but the movement inspection also revealed a worn capacitor — common in older Eco-Drive and solar-assisted quartz movements. We explained the findings, quoted separately for the battery-only option and the full repair, and the customer chose the full service. Total time: one day.

The Outcome

Watch running accurately. Customer received a written service note and has since brought a second watch in for a crystal replacement. A straightforward repair that became a longer relationship.

"They told me exactly what it would cost before doing anything. I knew where I stood."

The Situation

A 1970s Seiko with a broken acrylic crystal

An expat living in Bangkok brought in a vintage Seiko 5 with a shattered acrylic crystal. The original crystal profile was unusual — slightly domed with a specific diameter. Standard replacements had not fitted correctly at other shops.

What We Did

We measured carefully and identified the correct acrylic specification. The crystal required a short lead time to source. We confirmed the timeline with the customer before ordering. Once arrived, it was fitted using the appropriate press and the water resistance was tested.

The Outcome

Crystal fitted correctly, watch sealed properly. The customer collected it four days after the initial visit. The delay was communicated clearly at every stage, which they said they appreciated.

"Other places just put in the wrong size and hoped I would not notice. Here they took the time to get it right."

The Situation

A 1950s Swiss pocket watch, not wound in decades

A family brought in a pocket watch that had been in a drawer since the 1980s. The movement was seized and the mainspring was suspected to be broken. The owner was emotionally attached to the piece and wanted an honest assessment before any decisions.

What We Did

The movement was carefully disassembled, cleaned, and assessed. The mainspring was intact but had lost tension from long storage. All pivot holes were cleaned and re-oiled. A replacement mainspring was sourced and fitted. Total restoration time was three weeks. Each stage was documented and communicated to the family.

The Outcome

The watch is now running within acceptable vintage tolerances. The family received a full written record of the work and parts used. They noted that having the history documented added to the piece's meaning for them.

"We were nervous about handing it over. They treated it with real care. The written record was something we had not thought to ask for, but are glad to have."
