At a Glance

Six things that define our approach

Skilled, experienced hands

Our watchmaker has worked on movements of all types for over twelve years. That experience shows in the quality and confidence of the repair.

Open, plain communication

No jargon. No assumptions. We explain what we find and what we propose, in terms that are easy to understand and easy to question.

Agreed price before work begins

You know the cost before we start. If anything changes during the repair, we pause and speak with you before proceeding.

Careful, documented inspection

Every watch receives a full look-over before and after the repair. The findings are noted and shared with you as part of the service.

Respect for the watch itself

We handle every piece as though it matters — because to you, it does. Vintage watches in particular are treated with an eye on preserving what makes them original.

Accessible Bangkok location

Our workshop is on Sukhumvit Soi 24, straightforward to reach by BTS from central Bangkok or nearby on foot from Phrom Phong.

Expertise

Over a decade of hands-on watchmaking

Watch repair is a craft where knowledge accumulates slowly. A watchmaker who has handled quartz movements for a decade has encountered a much wider range of issues than one who has not. At Maneekala, that experience means we recognise patterns quickly — a slight irregularity in a movement, a gasket that is beginning to harden, a crystal fitting that is not quite right.

This also means we know when not to act. Sometimes the most useful thing we can tell a customer is that their watch is fine, or that a particular repair is not cost-effective for the piece in question. That kind of candid guidance is only possible when the knowledge behind it is genuine.

Tools & Technique

Proper tools used properly

Watch repair requires specialised instruments — case openers sized for different case types, movement holders, timing machines, pressure testers for water resistance checks. We have invested in the right equipment for the three services we offer, and we use it methodically.

For crystal replacement in particular, the fitting process matters as much as the crystal itself. An improperly seated crystal can develop a gap over time, compromising the seal. We use the appropriate press and gasket for each fitting, and test the result before the watch leaves our hands.

Customer Experience

A visit that feels unhurried

Our workshop is a calm place. There is no queue of impatient customers, no pressure to decide quickly, no sense that your enquiry is an inconvenience. When you bring a watch in, the person who speaks with you knows what they are looking at and can give you a considered view.

If you cannot visit in person, you can reach us by phone or email. We respond within one working day and are happy to discuss your watch before you commit to bringing it in.

Value & Pricing

Prices stated clearly, no additions after the fact

Our three services have published starting prices in Thai Baht: quartz battery service from ฿1,800, crystal replacement from ฿3,500, vintage restoration from ฿5,750. The final cost depends on the specific watch and what is involved, but we agree it with you before any work begins.

The initial assessment — where we look at your watch and tell you what we find — carries no charge. You are under no obligation to proceed.

Outcomes

A repaired watch that works, with a record of what was done

The purpose of a repair is a watch that functions properly. We test each piece after the work is complete — checking timekeeping accuracy, water resistance where relevant, and the condition of any seals or crystals that were replaced.

You receive a written service note detailing the work carried out and any parts replaced. This is useful for insurance purposes, for future servicing, and simply for your own records.

What Makes Us Different

Things not found at every workshop

Free initial assessment

Bringing your watch in for a look costs nothing. We examine it, tell you what we see, and explain what we would suggest — with no obligation to proceed.

Service notes in writing

Every completed job comes with a written record. This is especially useful for vintage pieces, where knowing the service history adds to the watch's story.

Conservative approach to vintage work

With older pieces, we default to doing less rather than more. Originality, once lost, cannot be restored. We protect it where we can.

Water resistance verification

After any work involving the case or crystal, water resistance is checked to confirm the watch is properly sealed before collection.
